Evangelical Church in Domanjševci

The majority of Domanjševci´s population is Evangelical. The village had a church that was built in the 18th century but it was destroyed in a fire, therefore, a new church, based on the plans of architect Alojz Kleiber, was built in its place in 1902. The Neo-Romanesque sanctuary stands on a hill above the village. In accordance to Helvetian tradition, there was a school beside the church where, in the olden days, preachers used to teach children to read and write. The church has the capacity to welcome up to a thousand believers. In its vicinity there is also the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Martin.
