Pomurje also in the Saddle at the National Gallop

At Heroes´ Square in Budapest, a series of events called National Gallop took place on the 2nd and 3rd of October, 2021, for the 14th time in a row. Every year, this event welcomes several thousand visitors.

The participants of the Saturday programme could see the opening ceremony, the riders’ taking of the pledge, the historical equestrian parade, as well as the qualifications, in which the winners of the Pomurje Gallop also raced against the competition:

  • József Biró – Dolga vas,
  • József Horváth – Lendava,
  • Ákos Nánássy – Domanjševci,
  • Péter Sáfrányos – Hodoš,
  • Erik Somi – Žitkovci,
  • Matej Grebenjak – the winner of the Slovenian Gallop.

On the second day of the event, visitors had the chance to see further qualifications and the semi-finals, as well as the finals at the end. The finals were closed with a festive award ceremony.

During the time of the event, Andrássy Street was turned into a promenade and was bursting with life more than usual because it became the location of the Kitchen of Hungary where delectable traditional Hungarian dishes were offered to visitors, who during the day had also been offered numerous other programmes connected with the topic of the event.
